Purpose MPCHN frequency converters are designed to control the rotational speed of mechanisms driven by synchronous motors with power ratings ranging from 320 to 1600 kW.

MPCHN frequency converters feature a low-voltage power section. The drive power circuit is based on a two-transformer configuration, including a step-down power transformer at the input and a step-up transformer at the output.

MPCHN Technical Specifications

Parameter Value
Power Range 320–1600 kW
Drive Motor Type Synchronous
Power Circuit Configuration Two-transformer design (low-voltage power section)
Speed Control Range 1:10
Motor Current Limitation (1–1.1) In, automatic
Braking Regenerative braking with energy feedback to the grid

MPCHN frequency converters provide:

  • smooth frequency-controlled starting of the drive motor at a specified acceleration rate;
  • motor speed control within a 1:10 range with automatic limitation of motor current to (1–1.1) In;
  • continuous operation at a constant speed within the specified control range and highly accurate speed stabilization;
  • motor braking with regenerative energy feedback to the power supply network;
  • restart of the drive while the motor is coasting within the operating speed range;
  • automatic synchronization of the drive motor with the power supply network based on the principle of precise synchronization, followed by transfer to direct mains operation;
  • limitation of motor current and torque in both steady-state and transient operating conditions.

Applications

MPCHN low-voltage frequency converters are used wherever smooth starting and precise control of high-power synchronous drives are required:

  • Oil and Gas Industry — main oil and gas pumping stations, compressor units;
  • Water Supply and Wastewater Systems — booster pumping stations, sewage and artesian water pumping stations;
  • Metallurgy and Mining — mill drives, main mine ventilation fans, conveyor systems;
  • Power Generation — feedwater pump drives, induced draft fans, and forced draft fans at thermal power plants;
  • Chemical and Cement Industries — compressor drives, mixers, and rotary kilns.

Advantages of MPCHN from PC-Electric

  • Energy savings of up to 30–50% — compared to fixed-speed drives, thanks to motor operation in the optimal mode;
  • Energy regeneration — electrical energy is fed back into the grid during braking, which is not possible with standard low-voltage VFDs without an active front-end rectifier;
  • Extended equipment service life — smooth starting eliminates shock loads on the motor, couplings, and driven machinery;
  • Ukrainian manufacturing — fast production, local service support, warranty coverage, and no currency-related risks;
  • Customization to project requirements — equipment configuration is engineered according to the parameters of each specific customer facility.
